Usaburo Style Kokeshi Doll
This beautiful wooden Kokeshi was made from award winning artist Hajime Miyashita.
Hajime Miyashita (1940–2006) was a celebrated sosaku kokeshi artist from Japan and known for his beautifully carved wooden dolls inspired by kabuki, seasons, and everyday life.
He began his craft in 1959 under master artist Kobayashi Kichitaro and went on to win many awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award (twice!). Even the Japanese imperial family collected his work.
